An engraving after the so-called Bridgewater Madonna, a painting by Raphael (c.1507) currently on loan to the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh (inv. no.NGL 065.46) from the Duke of Sutherland Collection. Lettered with the title and production details.
As lettered on the print, the painting was once in the Galerie du Palais Royal in Paris, and was in the collection of the Marquis of Stafford in London at the time this print was made. In Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876), the painting is catalogued as being then in the Bridgewater Gallery in London, property of the Earl of Ellesmere.
