A photograph of a sheet by Raphael (c.1509-11) now in the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland (inv. no.CMA 78.37). In Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876), the drawing was described as being then in the possession of the Grand Duke of Tuscany.
The sheet features several studies, including a nude female seated figure possibly connected with Raphael's Madonna della Sedia (top left), and three studies of a reclining child (bottom) which are preparatory for the figure of the Christ Child in the Madonna di Loreto now in the Musée Condé, Chantilly (inv. no.68; see RCIN 850869). A study of the head of a child at upper right.
This photograph is included in the 'General Studies' section of the Raphael Collection; see RCIN 854298 for it.Provenance
