A facsimile of a drawing by Raphael (c.1509-11) formerly in the Musée Wicar, Lille, and now in Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lille (inv. no.437; see RCIN 850871 for a photograph of the drawing). Lettered with production details. Published in Choix de dessins de Raphael qui font partie de la collection Wicar à Lille, Paris 1858, pl. V.
The studies drawn at upper left on the sheet are connected with Raphael's so-called Madonna di Loreto now in the Musée Condé, Chantilly (inv. no.68; see RCIN 850869 for a print reproducing this painting), those at upper and lower right with the Aldobrandini Madonna (see RCIN 850881 for a photograph of this painting). A sketch apparently unrelated to any known painting by Raphael is at bottom centre.Provenance
