A photograph of a painting currently attributed to Raphael’s workshop and housed in the Morgan Library and Museum, New York (inv. no.AZ 139). The painting is a replica of Raphael's so-called Madonna di Loreto (c.1511) now in the Musée Condé, Chantilly (inv. no.68). Ruland (1876) described the photographed painting as the original by Raphael then in the possession Sir Kennedy Laurie. See RCIN 850869 for a print reproducing the painting now in the Musée Condé, Chantilly.
Showing the Virgin holding a veil over the Christ Child, with St Joseph standing on the right. Ruland at the time the Raphael Collection catalogue was compiled, and thought it could have been the original painting by Raphael.Provenance
