A photograph of a drawing by Cesare da Sesto now in Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.6781), formerly attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The sheet features several studies, including that of a group of the Virgin and Child with the Infant Baptist, which has been described either as probably after a lost drawing by Raphael for his so-called Alba Madonna or a free interpretation after the painting. The Alba Madonna is now in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC (inv. no.1937.1.24; see RCIN 850853.a for a photograph of the painting).
The other studies on the sheet include a female draped figure seating in profile to the left (centre), a naked blessing child (top right) and the Virgin and Child with the Infant Baptist (top left).Provenance
