A facsimile engraving of a study by Raphael (c.1509-11) now in the British Museum (inv. no.1866,0714.79). The drawing – which Ruland (1876) associated with Raphael’s Mackintosh Madonna now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 2069) – cannot be distinctively related to any known painting by the master.
