A photograph of a cartoon by Raphael (c.1509-11) now in the British Museum, London (inv. no.1894,0721.1), executed for the so-called Mackintosh Madonna, a painting now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 2069). In Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876), the cartoon was described as being then in the possession of Col. Sterling (of Glentyan), who presented this photograph to the Royal Library in 1886. Not listed in Ruland (1876).
