A reversed engraving after the so-called Madonna dei Garofani (or Madonna of the Pinks), a painting by Raphael (c.1506-07) now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 6596). The inscription below the image indicates that the painting was formerly in the Camuccini collection. When described by Ruland (1876), the painting was in the possession of the Duke of Northumberland. Lettered with the title and production details.
Showing the seated Virgin holding on her lap the Christ Child who sits on a cushion, while captivating his attention with some pinks; in an interior with a view on a landscape.Provenance
