An engraving after the so-called Madonna of the Meadow, a painting by Raphael (1505-1506) now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (inv. no.GG175). As indicated by the inscription below the image, the painting was at the time of this print in the Imperial Gallery of the Belvedere, Vienna. Lettered with title and production details.
Showing the full length seated Virgin supporting with both hands the standing Christ Child who reaches for the cross-staff held by the Infant Baptist, who kneels down before Him; in a hilly landscape.Provenance
