A lithographic facsimile of a drawing by Raphael (c.1506) now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no.WA1846.160). The drawing is thought to be a study for the so-called Madonna del Cardellino, a painting by Raphael (c.1506) now in the Uffizi, Florence (inv.1890, no.1447). A photograph of the painting can be found at RCIN 850698. Published in ‘Lawrence Gallery (plate no.6) ,a publication of thirty facsimiles of drawings by Raphael from the Lawrence Gallery (collection of Sir Thomas Lawrence) announced by Mr Woodburn in 1838 in the Literary Gazette.
The drawing is thought to be a study for the so-called ‘Madonna del Cardellino’, a painting by Raphael (c.1505) now in the Uffizi, Florence (inv.1980, no.1447). A photograph of the painting can be found at RCIN 850698.
