A photograph of a painting by Raphael that Ruland (1876) catalogued as being then in the possession of the Marquis of Lansdowne, Bowood and now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 6480).
The painting is the only surviving scene of the predella of Raphael’s Ansidei Altarpiece (1505), the central panel of which is also in the National Gallery, London (see RCIN 850685 for a photograph of the painting).
Showing St John the Baptist on the far right, preaching to a multitude of male listeners arranged in several groups.Provenance
