Book with 3 sets of humorous prints: 'Living Made Easy' - 12 plates; 'Omnibus' - 6 pages of assorted caricatures, including gaming; 'March of Intellect' - 6 pages of assorted caricatures. Long oblong green leather cover, red leather spine. Robert Seymour was a versatile book illustrator. He worked with Dickens on the project which was to become 'The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club' (1836–7), but their collaboration came to an end when they disagreed, and Seymour committed suicide in 1836. It has never been agreed how far the project originated with the artist and how far with Dickens. This volume contains three sets of caricatures issued by Seymour as standalone illustrations, for sale by Thomas McLean, who sold numerous caricatures from his Haymarket shop. This object was displayed at the Charles Dickens Reception at Buckingham Palace, 2012.
