A large grey quilt with a border of 18 appliqué roundels in polychrome with black borders depicting agricultural scenes, and a large central roundel harbour scene.
Provenance
The quilt was made by Mrs Doris Bushell of Wingham, Ontario, to commemorate the bi-centennial of Ontario. It was the winner from over 200 entries in a competition sponsored by the Canadian Ministry of Food and Agriculture specially to mark Queen Elizabeth II's visit in September 1984.
It was presented to Queen Elizabeth II by Mr Denis Timbrell, Minister of the Ontario Ministry of Food and Agriculture, at an agricultural picnic at Amherstview, Ontario, in 1984. -
