-
A wedding dress in the form of a court dress, formed of a pointed bodice and long trained overskirt with a tiered inset panel. The ivory silk satin brocade incoporates in ivory and silver thread in the weave, the national emblems of roses, thistles and shamrocks with true lovers' knots. The dress was made by Linton and Curtis of 16 Albemarle Street, London. The silk satin was woven by the firm of Warners in Spitalfields, London. The dress is trimmed with Honiton lace and sprigs of artificial orange blossom. Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, later Queen Mary, also wore a lace veil which had been worn by her mother, Princess Mary Adelaide, Duchess of Teck at her own wedding to Francis, Duke of Teck in 1866.
