A rectangular rose silk covered hinged box containing two chops (seals); a circular porcelain ink pot and plastic spatula. A carved mutton-fat jade chop bears Queen Elizabeth II's title and a cream marble carved chop bears HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's title; with circular white porcelain dish for ink.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, by Li Qingwei, Governor of Shaanxi Province, during the State Visit to China, 13 - 23 October 1986. The gift were presented following a visit to the excavations of the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang in Xi'an, in Shaanxi Province, which had begun in 1974.
