An etching of Buckingham House in St James's Park, flanked by two stable wings connected by colonnades. A fountain in the courtyard, behind gates. Lettered below: Buckingham House in St Iames Park belonging to the Most Noble & Potent Prince Iohn Sheffield [...]. The engraver Johannes Kip worked in England and produced many topographical prints of English views. The print records the appearance of Buckingham House in 1714, when in the possession of the 1st Duke of Buckingham. The house was acquired by George III in 1761, and was later remodelled and extended to become Buckingham Palace.
