  • An etching of the three walks terminated by the Cassina, Pavilion and Rustic House in the gardens of the Earl of Burlington at Chiswick, with groups of figures on each avenue. Lettered below in English and French with the title and publication line 'Sold by T. Bowles in St Paul's Churchyard, John Bowles & Son, at the Black Horse in Cornhill, Robert Sayer at the Golden Buck in Fleet Street & John Ryall at Hogarth's Head in Fleet Street'. Another version is RCIN 701784.b.

The print shows the patte d'oie or 'goose-foot' of three radiating avenues, each terminating in a small building. The left-hand avenue leads to the 'Bagnio' (bath-house) or 'Cassina' (little house), designed by Lord Burlington in 1717. The central avenue leads to a domed pavilion designed by James Gibbs in 1716, and the right-hand avenue to the Rustic House. The print is one of a set of six views of the gardens at Chiswick House first issued by John Tinney in 1753. The set was reissued in about 1760-66, possibly by William Woollett after the designs of John Donowell.
