Persian sabre; ivory pistol grip divided by steel panel with gilt foliage decoration, ensuite to pommel cap. Grip base bound with brown leather and fitted with a wrist strap.Crossguard similarly decorated to pommel and terminating in circular finials. Back-edged steel blade.

In the collection of George IV; recorded in the Armoury at Carlton House with the note, 'A very Old Persian Sword made at Karataban, a famous place for Swords - very Excellent and in high preservation. ' (CH AA 1333).
