Flintlock pistol; round/octagonal steel barrel partly chased with foliate scrolls, held to barrel with two pierced silver bands engraved with flowerheads; hardwood stock applied throughout with tear-shaped pieces of coral with engraved silver surrounds; chased silver mounts; no ramrod.
Provenance
One of a number of guns and pistols given by the Dey of Algiers to George IV when Prince Regent in 1811 and 1819.
