A set of 84 hybrid paste porcelain soup plates. All gilded and predominantly white ground, many with a different shaped cartouches and central reserves; painted with a variety of colours and illustrated with stylised foliate and insect decoration.
Provenance
Part of a dinner service, known as the Harlequin Service, commissioned by George IV when Prince of Wales, 1807. Part delivered in 1811 and finally in October 1816. The total order invoiced at more than £4,000.
