Carved and polished stone bust of a young African woman with her head turned to her right hand side, with deep cut eyes, plaited hair tied high on her head with a band of material, a thick strand of hair hanging down her back, a roughly carved pompom, and a beaded necklace with semi-circular pendant. The Shona people of Zimbabwe are known for their smooth soapstone sculptures marked by abstract features and stylised forms.
