A Russian silver salt throne with a scroll crest and a hinged seat forming the lid, the whole chased with strapwork and geometric motifs, with a shaped valance and four feet.
Struck inside and on base with city mark of St Petersburg, fineness mark (84 zolotniki), maker's mark of Karl Albrecht, and retailer's mark of Nicholls & Plincke; struck on rim of base with city mark; lid engraved inside, EDDY / 8th Jany. 1876.Provenance
