This medal commemorates the Coronation of George IV. The obverse shows the Laureate head of George IV, while and on the reverse side George IV is shown being crowned by an angel, whilst being approached by Britannia, Scotia and Hibernia, the personifications for England, Scotland and Ireland. This medal was designed by Benedetto Pistrucci who was an Italian medallist. He is best known for designing the St George and the Dragon that still appears on coins to this day.
