Silver 8-pointed star, rays pierced & faceted; centre: THY RIGHT HAND O LORD BE GLORIFIED IN MIGHT[Greek],gold in blue,surrounding design as R/ of badge:8-pointed white cross on wreath with Greek cross & arms of Bavarian Wittelsbachs at centre.
The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) arrived in Athens on 29 May 1862 and the Prince drove immediately to the palace to pay his respects to the King. The Prince then drove to his hotel where, shortly afterwards, the King arrived to return the Prince's visit. King Otto then presented the Order of the Redeemer to the Prince of Wales.Provenance
