Alfonso Frederick, Count of Mensdorff-Pouilly (1810-94), was the second son of Emmanuel, count of Mensdorff-Pouilly. He succeeded his father in 1852.
This is one of four portraits of Alfonso Frederick and his brothers (RCIN 420792, 420794, 420795, 420798), all painted by the same artist about 1825-6. The identity of the artist is unknown.
