This is a thinly overpainted photograph by David Mossman showing the Princess of Wales, wearing her wedding dress of white lace trimmed with orange blossom, with a matching wreath and the badge of the Order of Victoria and Albert. Similar photographs of the Princess of Wales on the occasion of her wedding were taken by John Edwin Mayall (RCIN 2106129). Queen Victoria was given a coloured photograph of the Princess of Wales 'in her wedding attire' by 'Bertie and Alix' on the first anniversary of their wedding, 10 March 1864 (Journal, 10 March 1864).
