A koala bear, carved in honey-coloured agate with cabochon emerald eyes, poised on a chased silver branch.
King George V’s Fabergé collecting encompassed a large number of the exotic animals which now form part of the Royal Collection. He purchased this koala, the water buffalo, the kangaroo and a camel on the same visit to Fabergé's London branch in November 1913.
