Description

One of a pair of oval canvases, depicting Christ (CWLF 79, 402600) and the Virgin (this one) which can be loosely associated with Gerard Seghers, a pupil of Rubens.

The painting appears in Pyne's illustrated 'Royal Residences' of 1819, hanging in the Presence Chamber at Kensington Palace (RCIN 922150).
