An indifferent imitation of Rembrandt’s work of the 1650s. This unknown lady is wearing very dark clothing with a light brown fabric facing and cuffs with a brooch at her bosom; pearl drop earring and a gold collar.

Recorded in 1749 at Leicester House in the collection of Frederick, Prince of Wales, as 'Rembrandt's wife'.
