Oval tortoiseshell and gold snuff box, with pierced, cast and chased gold borders of acanthus leaves and ovals, and floral swags and pierced stylised pilasters on the sides. Lid inset with a glazed enamel portrait of Louis XIV, wearing a breast-plate over a pink and gold jacket and blue cloak. Brown eyes, brown hair, pencil moustache; light brown background.
