Semi-elliptical gilt-copper helmet or top of scale armour, ribbed with a small frontal peak and fortified with horny scales and surmounted by three porte-aigrettes; lined with green velvet. Each scale decorated with gold paint and the scales near the rim of helmet inlaid with turquoises and rubies.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76 by Bhavani Singh, Maharaja of Datia.
