    Provenance

    Alex and Peter Mongta are brothers from the Monero people of the Cann River region in Victoria, Australia. Primarily known for making traditional wooden objects, their work is associated with the Koorie Heritage Trust, which was established in the 1980s to promote indigenous craft in south-eastern Australia.

    This boomerang was presented to Queen Elizabeth II by the Museum of Victoria during the Commonwealth Visit to Australia, 1988
