Photogravure of Phyllis (née de Bathe), Lady Crossley, later Lady Somerleyton. In this near full length portrait, Lady Crossley is photographed in a three quarter turn, her back turned towards the camera and her face photographed in profile. She is seated on an upholstered bench and appears to be in the process of reading, her eyes focused on the journal she holds in front of her body with her left hand. She is wearing three thick, metal bangles, a beaded choker and a dark coloured velvet dress with light coloured short sleeves. The dress is trimmed with lace. In the accompanying caption, Lady Crossley is described as taking a keen interest in politics, and "fond of all Country pursuits" with "a special interest in gardening."
