Gruner was Keeper of the Royal Print Room at Dresden, an engraver and art publisher who directed the production of chromolithography by the Berlin firm of Storch & Kramer. He also acted as adviser to Prince Albert on matter relating to art particularly the Raphael Collection.Provenance
