Alison Geissler (1907-2011) was one of the foremost glass engravers in Scotland during the mid-twentieth century, based in Edinburgh for the duration of her career. After studying glass engraving at Edinburgh College of Art, Geissler struggled to sell her work in the post-war period, but after exhibiting at the Scottish Craft Centres during the early 1950s, Geissler was requested to make certain pieces and spent the majority of her career working largely to commission.Provenance
