Photograph of an exterior group portrait featuring Princess Alice, later the Duchess of Hesse and Rhine (1843-78) the Duchess of Kent (1786-1861) and an unidentified man. Princess Alice is seated on a white horse, or 'pony', facing left. The Duchess of Kent stands on the Princess's left and rests her hand on the head of a dog. A man on a dark colour horse, wearing a top hat and dark colour jacket, is positioned behind Prince Alice.
