Photograph of a silver vase decorated with a scene from the Gigantomachy, the battle between the Olympian Gods and the Giants. Zeus is depicted on the lid of the case. He is seated on an eagle and holds thunderbolts in his right hand. The Giants are presented on the body of the vase as male nude figures with clubs. They are shown scrambling over, and being crushed by rocks. Each handle has a male nude figures, standing on the inside, wrestling with serpents. The base is decorated with reclining horned figures.
