Photograph of the front of the Museo del Prado in Madrid. The foreground has a sweeping drive leading up to the first floor level of the building. At the front of the building is a portico supported by six doric columns above which is a large rectangular frieze.
The building was designed by Juan de Villanueva (1739-1811) during the reign of King Carlos III (1716-88).Provenance
