After George Washington Wilson (1823-93)
Falls of Corrymulzie - Braemar 1883 after an 1865 original
Carbon print | 10.2 x 7.8 cm (image) | RCIN 2620023
-
Photograph of a sharply descending waterfall bordered by dense tree coverage. Above the falls is a single arched stone bridge.
This photograph features in Wilson's book: Photographs of English and Scottish Scenery, published in 1866. This location proved a popular choice for Wilson who returned to photograph this view with subtle variations in each photograph. This photograph is a later carbon copy of the original albumen photograph. Carbon was a process that was less susceptible to fading, unlike an albumen print that is prone to discolouration over time.Provenance
