To celebrate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, an official portrait was commissioned from the photographer John Swannell and released on Accession Day, 6th February 2012. The photograph was taken at Buckingham Palace with the Queen Victoria Memorial visible behind, forming a visual link between Queen Elizabeth II and her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, the only British monarchs to have celebrated the milestone of sixty years on the throne.Provenance
