Photograph of a group of soldiers of the 19th Regiment, who survived the battles of Alma and Inkerman. The soldiers are standing in a group, with one man sitting and another lying on the ground to the right. Two large rolled up flags are held crossed at the centre of the group. All of the soldiers are wearing military uniform and several are carrying swords. There are several cannonballs of different sizes on the ground in front of them. The 19th Regiment of Foot fought in many of the major battles of the Crimean War and captured the Russian fortification during the Battle of Alma.
