Set of 17 carved giltwood side chairs; seat rail carved with pendant leaves and berries; top rail forms outward scroll; floral roundels flank each of the four sabre legs; covered in red silk damask embroidered with floral decorations in gold.
Provenance
Acquired by George IV. These chairs can be seen in Nash's view of the Saloon at the Royal Pavillion, Brighton in 1826 and were probably removed to Buckingham Palace in 1845-7.
