Pair of settees of carved and giltwood frame carved with laurel wreath and rosettes. Straight closed arms with winged lions on single paws as arm supports. Baluster front legs. Outcurved back with shell fluting. Upholstered in yellow silk damask.
Provenance
According to Clifford Smith, this pair of settees were made in 1812 by Tatham & Co., Mount Street, for the Blue Velvet Room, Carlton House at cost of £350. They can be seen in the Blue Velvet Room in Pyne's Royal Residences' 1819 in Blue Velvet Room.
