Photograph of Balmoral castle with the clock tower prominent on the right. On the left is the porte-cochere at the end of the drive. In the foreground are the branches of a tree or bush within the castle's gardens. Trees also partially obscure the bottom part of the clock tower from view.
This photograph is a carbon copy of the original albumen photograph made in 1883. Carbon was a process that was less susceptible to fading, unlike an albumen print that is prone to discolouration over time.Provenance
