Photograph of the riverside at Greenwich in London, with passengers embarking a steam boat, the funnel of which can be seen on the right side. The masts of ships can be seen in the background with other smaller boats on the river. A lamppost stands on the left in the foreground. This photograph was reviewed in the Photographic News in March 1863.
Greenwich is one of five boroughs of the London Docklands which constituted the Port of London, once considered the largest in the world.Provenance
