Photograph of the riverside at Greenwich, London, with the River Thames on the right. People walk and sit by the side of the river including two women in the foreground who approach the camera. A small wooden building stands on the riverside with a sign on the side that reads 'Caution'. In the A lamppost stands in the centre of the photograph with buildings on the left. In the background are docks and ships masts. This photograph was reviewed in the Photographic News in March 1863.
Greenwich is one of five boroughs of the London Docklands which constituted the Port of London, once considered the largest in the world.Provenance
