Photograph of a view of Ross Castle, Killarney. The castle, located in the background of the photograph, appears to be damaged and is covered in ivy. A fence and path in the foreground extends to the middle ground, leading the eye towards the castle. A man leans against the fence, facing left. He wears a light colour hat, dark colour jacket and light colour trousers.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.Provenance
