Child's combined rattle and whistle of silver, moulded body repoussé and chased with foliate and petal borders, hung with two rows of bells and chased with lines of imbricated discs at either end. Engraved 'A.F 1774'. Fitted with a natural coral handle which was used for teething.
Provenance
Purchased by Queen Mary in 1946. Originally belonged to Prince Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850).
