Two pairs of miniature hexagonal porcelain vases and covers, painted with exotic birds on a dark blue ground with gilt scrolls. Lids similarly painted with flowers and a gilt knop.
The Worcester porcelain manufactory provided two models in plaster to the Dolls' House committee for approval before this shape was selected. The decorative scheme of the dark blue ground and exotic birds in gilded reserves copies designs of the eighteenth century, when the factory was under the directorship of Dr Wall.Provenance
Made for Queen Mary's Dolls' House, 1924
