Miniature mahogany gramophone with hinged cover opening to reveal brass needle and green silk covered turntable. Serpentine front and sides; front fitted with two small doors above two larger doors which conceal the mechanism. Side handle. Bracket feet.
The miniature gramophone was placed in the Day Nursery of the Dolls' House at the request of Queen Mary, as she claimed the King was not overly fond of them. A set of miniature records was supplied to be played on the machine.Provenance
